Jeff Dedrick’s Hidden Sales Project
A friend of mine — Jeff Dedrick — was telling me about what he learned from Harley-Davidson motorcycles:
They DON’T make most of their money selling motorcycles! Nope.
Most of the fat stacks of Harley cash come from all the OTHER stuff they sell their customers: shirts, leather, helmets, and
about a gazillion other accessories.
Jeff then told me about a buddy of his that just finished up a “product launch” of an ebook. I know — yawn. How boring, right? Until you realize that his “ebook launch” did nearly $90,000. But that was just the beginning…
Jeff told me that this “buddy” of his was just getting started with that $90,000. The magic was in what happened AFTER the first sale was made — much like what Harley does with all their “side” or “back end” items. This “little ebook launch” ended up doing $400,000. You read that right. $400,000.
The reason it pissed me off is: I realized that even though I often “think” I’m watching a launch and understanding what’s going
on… I’m MISSING the real action that happens behind the scenes. Get it? The “front end” product is NEVER the REAL STORY for successful marketers. Even on what you might ASSUME is a “small”product launch. You know, like a “little ebook”. These are the “hidden sales”. And the HIDDEN SALES…are where ALL THE MONEY IS MADE.
Jeff had his “buddy” (a well-known marketer) create a short video showing exactly how he made all his money from this ebook launch. You can watch the video here:
