Visting my Irish Homeland

My son and I have been traveling around the UK this week and today we boarded a plane and headed to Dublin, Ireland. My family comes from Ireland and we thought it would be a great adventure to see where the family originated. We’ve toured around Dublin today and saw some of the most amazing architecture I’ve ever seen and we drank a few Guinness at the Gravity Bar overlooking the entire city of Dublin.

Tomorrow we are heading back out to tour Dublin Castle, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and many other incredibly historic spots in Dublin. Oh, did I mention today is my birthday? What an incredible way to spend it, with my 18 year old son in Dublin, Ireland. Unbelievable!!

Cheers!

Stonehenge, more than a pile of rocks?

We have been talking about going to visit Stonehenge since we’ve been in the UK and most Brits laugh at us wanting to visit the site. The laugh and say, what do you want to see a pile of rocks for? Well, there is alot of history at the 5000 year old site and I must say it was very impressive. I still can’t imagine how on earth they put this together with the limited tools of the past.

Although you can’t walk among the rocks you can get pretty close to it and you can feel the history. At least I did.

Here’s a photo of my son and I the day we visited Stonehenge. I’m glad we made the trip.
