We finally booked our Hawaii Flight

This year my wife and I are going to spend a couple of weeks in Maui for our Anniversary. It’s something we’ve wanted to do for several years and finally just booked it. We are going to spend two weeks on Maui in a beach house that sits on the west side of Maui on the most beautiful beach on the island.

Here’s the best part, I’ve made a deal with my wife that NO COMPUTER is to go on the trip. This trip is to be a pure vacation with absolutely no work. It will be extremely hard to do and I’m going to do my best to not bring my computer. Since 1998, I don’t think I’ve gone more than a day without checking my email or at least making sure the business was running smoothly.

It will be a bit easier with all the new staff members we have in place now, so I know the business will be fine. We’ve added an office manager and that’s taken a ton of stress off of me and allowed me to get back to what I do best and that’s developing our software and making sure our program is running top notch.

I’ll post some photos and a few surprises that I can’t mention now when we get back from Hawaii.

Microsoft Gearing Up to Play Hard Ball

I received my June issue of ‘Fast Company‘ magazine yesterday and read an interesting article about Microsoft’s newest venture to counter the Mac vs PC ads. You know the ones, Mac vs. Pc with the young ‘hip’ guy and the nerdy 40 something where Mac continuously takes shots at Windows mostly Vista. (If you haven’t seen these ads, go to YouTube and search Mac vs. Pc)

Anyway, Microsoft has hired the ‘hippest’, ‘hottest’, ad company in the country to work on making Microsoft (specifically the PC) cool again. Alex Bogusky is the head of one the most cutting edge Ad companies in the US and is responsible for resurrecting many companies with his ad style.

You’ve probably seen his work and didn’t know it, The Burger King campaign with the “King”, Volkswagen’s commercial with the horrific crash, Bringing back Orville Redenbacher from the dead, Virgin Atlantic’s porn commercial and so on. He is cutting edge and grabs your attention with his style.

So, I’m anxious to see what he’s going to do for Microsoft. I know Microsoft has to get angry each time they see the next version of Mac vs PC and the funny thing is, the truth hurts. The commercials have to hit home because they are funny but true. I would also like to know what they paid Bogusky to pack up 700 employees and move them from Miami to Boulder, Co. just to work on this campaign. It should prove to be interesting, I can’t wait to see what it does for Microsoft.

Los Angeles Training Workshop

I finally made it back to Indiana after the first leg of our world tour. We ended this leg of the tour by holding a training workshop for our members on the West Coast. We held a training workshop in Los Angeles and it was great! We had a full house and very receptive audience for the training, the feedback we received from people attending was great.

I’m going to post some of the video testimonials we received during the training, especially the one from a gentleman that said he “was very appreciative of the training and was very thankful that we didn’t have a hidden agenda and that there was no selling”. That may not sound like a raving testimonial, but it is. People can be very skeptical and approach situations like these with animosity.

We have no ‘hidden agenda’ in our trainings, they are simply that, training. A way for our company to build better relationships with our clients and to create raving fans. Our company is very serious about creating customers for life and these trainings are just one way we can do that.

Thanks to everyone that attended our Training Workshops and I look forward to meeting more of our clients over the next few months at our upcoming Workshops around North America.
