I recently returned from a trip to Australia, this time I went to the Gold Coast (Queensland) area and it was a beautiful area. I reminded me of Ft. Lauderdale or Daytona except the water was much different, the waves were very big with 8 ft. swells and they broke in at least 6 different spots. There are hotels up and down the oceanfront with bars and restaurants filling up the side streets.

The beach I visited was in Surfer’s Paradise, it is aptly named and I would assume that’s because of the great waves. I saw a few surfers getting ready for the waves but it was really early, so not many were up yet.

The day I left to come home, I got up at 430am and went down to the beach to watch the sunrise and I didn’t realize what an incredible site I would see. Here are some photos of the sunrise.
