I knew going to Maui there might be trouble because there were 2, yes 2, Lassen Galleries located there. Christian Reese Lassen (my favorite artist) is from Lahaina, Maui and has 2 galleries on Front St. I was introduced to Lassen about 3 years ago by a friend of mine and have loved his work ever since.

I first saw his work in the Las Vegas Gallery located in Caesar’s Palace. If you get to Vegas, you have to check out the Gallery, his paintings will blow your mind. The are incredible.

If you haven’t seen a Lassen painting he is an incredible artist that paints with vivid colors and incredible passion. I love his sealife and seascapes the best. Up until this week, I had 2 Lassen prints in my collection. The prints are the less expensive versions of the paintings.

There are several different variations of his paintings and the value can range from $500 to $50k per painting with some older originals worth 6 figures. My wife and I went into both Galleries 3 different times during the trip and on the third time, I convinced the wife it was time to purchase our first good Lassen Painting.

One of my favorites is “Miracle of Life” and they had an incredible deal on a CE (Connoisseur Edition Canvas) These are limited to 100 paintings, signed and have 10 – 1pt diamonds in the painting. Yes, I said diamonds!

Here is a picture of me with the Gallery Display, my painting will be delivered in 3-4 months and we chose a different frame than the one in the photo. I still can’t believe we did it! The lighting in the photos isn’t the best and you can see the receipt and certificate of authenticity in my hand and I look a bit excited as well. LOL.

Wow, time flies when you’re having fun! I can’t believe our vacation is over already, we just got back from our Hawaii trip after spending 2 weeks on Maui. It was an incredible trip with many, many highlights. I’m going to post several posts with some photos and highlights of the trip.

My wife and I had an incredible time on this trip, it was an anniversary trip and we were busy every day and night. :) We spent time Snorkeling, Kayaking, Beaching, Hiking, Sightseeing, Shopping, Relaxing and more…

I’ll be posting about the trip over the next week or so.

Aloha!

Pat

We finally booked our Hawaii Flight

This year my wife and I are going to spend a couple of weeks in Maui for our Anniversary. It’s something we’ve wanted to do for several years and finally just booked it. We are going to spend two weeks on Maui in a beach house that sits on the west side of Maui on the most beautiful beach on the island.

Here’s the best part, I’ve made a deal with my wife that NO COMPUTER is to go on the trip. This trip is to be a pure vacation with absolutely no work. It will be extremely hard to do and I’m going to do my best to not bring my computer. Since 1998, I don’t think I’ve gone more than a day without checking my email or at least making sure the business was running smoothly.

It will be a bit easier with all the new staff members we have in place now, so I know the business will be fine. We’ve added an office manager and that’s taken a ton of stress off of me and allowed me to get back to what I do best and that’s developing our software and making sure our program is running top notch.

I’ll post some photos and a few surprises that I can’t mention now when we get back from Hawaii.
